Underworks Bloomers Review: Four Inches of Nylon and a Lace Hem

We already did Reamphy (tight knit, no hold, a pack) and Bandelettes (lace bands, no short). Underworks sells the vintage job: champagne nylon tap pants, a thin elastic waist, a 4-inch inseam, a wide floral lace hem. Twenty-five dollars. Twenty-nine hundred reviews. A 4.5. They are not shapewear. They are not SHAPERMINT. They are a slip that stops at the thigh so a skirt has a lining you can wash.

If you wanted compression, Bali or SPANX. If you wanted chafe insurance that looks like 1952, stay. Size the hip like a panty that is loose. The Size Guide is a starting point. Too small and lace cuts. Too big and the waist walks.

The lace is the hem. Nylon is the slip.

Four inches is not mid-thigh on a long femur. It is a tap pant. Under a pencil it can peek. Under a midi it is the lining. Size the hip. Between, the size you wear in a slip. Satin-ish nylon glides. Lace at the hem is pretty and it is also a grabber on tights. The back still is the same loose seat. There is no lift. There is no gusset speech in the still — live in them or don’t.

Wash cold, hang. Heat welds nylon into a different size and yellows champagne. Static is why VF sells anti-static slips. These will cling if you let them.

Vs Reamphy, vs SHAPERMINT, the 4.5

Reamphy is cheaper and uglier and better at chafe if you want knit. SHAPERMINT holds. This is the pretty short. The 4.5 is a hem that matches the still more often than Amazon tap-pant no-names. Believe lining. It will not flatten. It will rustle.
