Nursing and Maternity Bras: Sleep, Pump, Feed — Three Different Jobs

Maternity listings flatten three products into one thumbnail. Sleep bras hold at night. Clip nursing bras open for a feed. Hands-free pumping bras have a hole or a stretch panel for a flange. Buying “nursing” and hoping is how you own four soft bras that all fail at 3 a.m. or at a desk pump.

During pregnancy the band wants to grow. A soft wireless with extra hook rows is the maternity job. What to skip

Skip underwire in the first weeks unless you already know your new size and love the brand. Skip one-size pumping bras if you are busty — the flange sits where the fabric lets it, not where you need it. Skip Amazon “nursing lingerie sets” that are regular lace with a clip photoshopped into the title.
